I'm Going Blind : August Alsina

August Alsina: I'm Going Blind

August Alsina recently made a revealing confession to his fans. The R&B crooner took to Instagram to inform supporters about his current battle with an eye disease, which has caused him partial blindness.

"So I have this eye disease.. Blind in my left, and losing vision in my right," he captioned a photo posted Friday (May 15) of him in the middle of an operation.

While the news is definitely saddening, things are already looking up for the "No Love" singer as he is undergoing treatment in hopes of fully regaining his sight. "In order to prevent my eyesight from deteriorating ihad [sic] to do this surgery," he wrote. "This s**t is beyond painful & Life be throwin' a n***a curve balls but what I've gained from it all is priceless."

The 22-year-old ended the post by encouraging his fans to appreciate life's simple miracles. "A lot of things that are so natural to us in life (like waking up and being able to see) we can take it for granted," he wrote. "Thank God the OG for allowing me to see.. The good the bad the ugly, I'm just glad to see."

We wish the young singer a speedy recovery.

4 family members killed in Texas plane crash

Four members of a Texas family were killed on Saturday when their small plane crashed north of San Antonio, officials said on Sunday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the plane, a four seat, single-engine Piper PA-24, had just taken off from a private residential airstrip when it lost altitude and crashed near a feed store parking lot by a highway.

Cell phone video taken by motorists on the highway and broadcast on local TV showed flames and thick black smoke coming out of the wreckage.

No one was injured on the ground and no structures were damaged by the crash and fire, the Comal County Sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office identified the victims as the 38-year-old pilot Michael Galloway, his wife Heather Galloway, 32, and their two children, aged 8 and 10. The family lived near where the crash took place.

There was no immediate word on the plane's destination or a possible cause of the crash. The sheriff's office said the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board plan to begin an investigation on Sunday.
